The crowds flocked to the Dardanup Bull and Barrel Festival to enjoy all the fun of our “Spanish Fiesta”. Sol Y Sombra dancers from Bunbury dressed in beautiful Spanish costumes danced their way around the Festival. Sue Wiscombe and her Spanish dancing horse showed that they could easily match it with the spectacle of Sol Y Sombra. How that horse can dance!

Chef Julie Lawrence showed everyone how to prepare Tapas and the chefs from Matilda Bay Restaurant  sold out of their delicious paella prepared in huge traditional pans. Local vignerons showcased their Tempranillo wine made from Spanish grapes grown in Ferguson Valley – very popular with the wine tasters.

The midday street procession saw giant puppets and kids wearing bright and colourful bull masks parading around the Festival - just as you would see in Barcelona.Ole’
The very popular Lawnmower Relay Races drew huge crowds as did the Festival favourite the Tug O War which was won for the 3rd year by the Bunbury Barbarians Rugby team.

150 market stalls provided Festival visitors with beautiful crafts, preserves, jewelry and plants to buy.

The Down on the Farm arena saw many people watching the cow and goat milking and meeting the alpacas, Dexter cattle, miniature horses and the many varieties of poultry.
The Wine and Gourmet Food marquee hummed all day with Festival visitors sampling Ferguson Valley wine, beer, cheeses and olives. Local art displayed in the Thomas Little Hall saw literally thousands attend this exhibition. At the cooking demos it was again standing room only.

The quality of athletes competing in the sprint races was top class and over 50 children competed in the Primary Schools Challenge.

Dream State Circus wowed the crowd with a fire twirling display before Russell Sheridan’s fire sculpture sent the crowd into a cheering frenzy which brought to a close a great day at the 2010 Festival. Ole’
